When Henry had respectfully greeted the Cat, he ran towards the garden of the plant of life, which was just a short distance away. He was worried that something might stop him, but he reached the garden gate without any trouble. He looked for the entrance and found it easily since the garden wasn't big. But, oh no! The garden was full of countless plants he didn't recognize, and he couldn't tell which one was the plant of life. Luckily, he remembered that the kind fairy Bienfaisante had told him to call for the Doctor who took care of the fairies' garden when he reached the top of the mountain. So, he called out loudly. Soon, he heard a rustling among the plants nearby and saw a tiny man emerge, no taller than a broom. He had a book under his arm, glasses on his crooked little nose, and wore a big black cloak like a doctor.
"What are you looking for, little one?" asked the Doctor. "And how did you manage to get up here?"
"Doctor, I come from the fairy Bienfaisante, to ask for the plant of life to heal my poor sick mother, who is about to die."
"Anyone from the fairy Bienfaisante," said the little Doctor, tipping his hat respectfully, "is very welcome. Come, my boy, I'll give you the plant you need."
